The collision occurred at approximately 6:55 a.m. at the intersection of Okeechobee Road and Northwest 170th Street. A representative from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) stated that the two commercial trucks collided in the intersection, causing both vehicles to overturn. The heavy force of the crash scattered debris across the roadway and led to a fuel spill that required an extensive cleanup effort. Sadly, one of the truck drivers suffered serious injuries in the crash. Because of the overturned trucks and hazardous materials on the roadway, authorities shut down all northbound lanes of Okeechobee Road near Northwest 170th Street for several hours.
