What is a non-compete clause?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

Under Florida law, a non-compete agreement may be enforced by a business, i.e., an employer so long that the non-compete agreement is reasonable with regard to time and geographical area, and it must protect the legitimate business interest of the employer, as defined by Florida statute. Generally, restrictions of about two years and covering areas where the employer actually does business will be considered reasonable by the court.
