What kinds of damages can be awarded in a breach of contract lawsuit?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

The types of damages awarded in a breach of contract lawsuit all depend upon the circumstances of that particular cause of action in that lawsuit. For example, if the contract is one for real estate there may be a provision in that real estate contract awarding a specific number of damages. However most breach of contract actions are not just limited to the contract itself for damages. There are other outer line issues an attorney must look to, for example loss profits. Did the person who sustained the damages as a result of the breach lose profits in their business as a result of that breach? That’s why it’s imperative to have an attorney that’s experienced in these actions to review your contract.
